York Hen Party Trail
Calling all hen party organisers! Get your hens out and about exploring on our York Hen Party Treasure Trail!
Your 'whodunnit' mystery will be personalised for your hen, with photos, anecdotes and facts about the hen woven into your investigation to crack the case!
You'll be following a route around York taking in all the top sights whilst solving clues and collecting evidence in order to solve the crime and save the wedding!
Clues are set on plaques, buildings and other permanent features around York City Centre. The directions will lead you from start to finish, passing York Minster, Stonegate, King's Square, The Shambles, Clifford's Tower and other sights.
Once your teams of 4 or 5 have completed their investigations, it's time to meet up over a drink and check the answers to see who has solved the case!

York Hen Challenge
York Hen Trail Info:
Distance - 2 miles
Duration - up to 2 hours (depending on how competitive your hens are!)
Day or night? - This route is best enjoyed in daylight. It can also be completed after dusk but some Clues may take extra searching and a torch may be required. The trail activity is completed self-guided so you can start at any time.
Start and finish centrally outside York Minster - personalised booklets can include directions to a pub, restaurant or other final meeting place of your choice.
Refreshment stops - there are plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants along the route to choose from.
Parking - Marygate Long Stay Car Park, or use the Park & Ride (but check closing times if planning on staying into the evening).
Sealed answers* ensure there's no cheating along the way, and a sealed tie-breaker will decide the winning team if needed.
This self-guided Treasure Trail route is exclusive to Yorkshire Trails, so no need to worry if any of your group have done any Treasure Trails before; they won't have solved this particular mystery!
*Please note that, unlike purchasing a single Trail, because you are supplied with the Trail answers , the Treasure Trails online answer submission and subsequent competition entry or rewards are not available with any Yorkshire Trails group packs.

We did the hen party trail in York - it was amazing! Really appreciated all the work that went into making it and the bride loved the personal touches as we went along. Just the right length and everyone could get involved - I’d highly recommend to anyone wanting to do something a bit different on a hen party!

We had such a good time on the York trail for a hen do - everyone commented how much they’d enjoyed the hunt. Great way to see the city but added a bit of fun. The variety of clues was appreciated and the amount of personal detail interwoven was really impressive!

We did a hen party trail in York which was great fun. The back story to the trail was very cleverly personalised to fit in with information I had shared with Jane about the bride and groom. The clues were just of the right difficulty for us and the directions were easy to follow. The extra photo challenges in the pack made it even more fun for our group. Jane was very helpful and prompt with sorting the trail for me, especially as it was quite last minute. I would highly recommend this activity for a hen party group in York.
